About Us at Chesapeake Woodworkers Sales
Since first opening nearly 20 years ago in Hurlock, Maryland by Leroy Sturtz and John Burt,
many things have changed. Both John and Leroy have moved on. John, sadly has moved to
the great woodshop in the sky where he undoubtedly is working on his boat. Leroy on the other
hand has moved to Western Maryland where he still makes a lot of noise and sawdust.
The most important thing about Chesapeake Woodworkers Sales (formerly Supply) is that the
vision of John and Leroy has remained as a guiding principle. Good quality lumber and tools,
good advice and fair treatment of our visitors and friends are the recipe that makes the store an
Eastern Shore Tradition.
While some faces have changed some remain hauntingly familiar. Namely Layton, who
oversees the shop and lumber area with a steady hand, and Greg, John's younger brother who
helped out from time to time through the years, who oversees the front end of the operation. Ag,
also pops in daily to keep everyone in line.
